Wedding favors can take many forms from the simple bag of Jordan almonds to the extravagant goodie bag filled with expensive trinkets. One wedding favor sure to garner approval from all is the selection of jewelry as keepsakes. The giving of jewelry is generally limited to the bridesmaids but may be extended to others, as the couple chooses.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Give jewelry as a wedding favor that can be worn both during the ceremony and on other occasions. Choose jewelry pieces that are classic, such as a pearl necklace or nice pairs of earrings that can be worn with many types of outfits. Remember to choose simple pieces that are not too ornate, as multiple people will wear these, and you want to try to appeal to everyone's taste.

  2. Step 2

Select jewelry that has a tie-in with your wedding ceremony if possible. If you have a beach theme for example, you might want to give shell anklets or bracelets that capture the relaxed coastal feel of your nuptials. Another example could be selecting a particular color of jewel that matches one of your wedding colors, such as emeralds if one of your colors is green. Don't worry about buying actual gemstones, as costume jewelry can be beautifully crafted as well.

  3. Step 3

Buy individual pieces of wedding jewelry for your bridesmaids. Show your wedding party that you see them each as an important and unique part of your wedding by selecting unique jewelry pieces for them. For instance, you may wish to give diamond earrings to your maid of honor, a special monogrammed bracelet to a sister and a beautiful ornate pin to your future sister-in-law.

  4. Step 4

Select unusual pieces of jewelry for wedding favors. The selection of differently styled pieces will be memorable keepsakes of your day. Consider special hand-crafted jewelry by artists such as Cluny Grey or Leah Kim. Visit their official websites for ideas (see Resources below).

  5. Step 5

Choose jewelry wedding favors that remind your friends of the romance of weddings. Red rose themed jewelry is particularly evocative of romance as, of course, are heart-shaped pieces of jewelry. Consider shopping for very romantic pieces from the official website of Portland's Treasure Chest (see Resources below).

  6. Step 6

Add a visual personalized reminder of the day to the wedding jewelry favors. Give bracelets or necklaces monogrammed or engraved specifically for the guests receiving them. Look to SincerityWeddings.com for beautiful items (see Resources below).

  7. Step 7

Select matching hair jewelry that can be worn by bridesmaids during the ceremony and kept as special favors afterward. Keep these pieces simple and match them to the wedding colors or go with classic crystal, which rarely clashes. Check out Redotdesigns.com for hair accessories suitable for weddings (see Resources below).

  8. Step 8

Make your own jewelry for special wedding favors to be treasured by your guests. Learn simple beading techniques and how to set and mount jewels. Consult firemountaingems.com for information on getting started (see Resources below).

  9. Step 9

Consider giving single gemstones in one of your wedding colors. Place these in ornate little jewelry boxes to give to your guests. They can then choose to keep them "as is" or to have them set and mounted in a piece of jewelry they select themselves.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't worry about buying expensive pieces of jewelry. Instead focus on selecting jewelry items that are fun and evocative of the joy of your wedding day.
  • Select jewelry at least 6 months prior to the wedding date, especially if you are considering any hand-crafted pieces.
