Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Pellet gun, or high powered BB Gun.
A tripod is optional.
Stick-12''
String or fishing line.
Apple, onion, or other fruit.

Step1

Set up bait. Tie string onto the tip of the stick. On the end of the string, about 10 inches long, tie the in the fruit snuggly.

Step2

Find active or fresh gopher hole.

Step3

Place stick into ground next to the hole so that the fruit hangs just above the hole. It shouldn't be touching the ground, about 1 inch above the hole.

Step4

Load pellet or bb gun. Set up tripod to a conferable level that gives you a clear shot a little bit below the fruit. If you are not using a tripod, having a steady and accurate shot is key.

Step5

Take aim and fire. When the gopher pops his head out to look at the fruit, fire. They usually pop their head out for a number of seconds. Sometimes they return into the hole, but they cant resist.

Tips & Warnings

Take a tomato, and squeeze some juice into the hole. This attracts them quickly.
When using a Pellet or BB gun, always use caution. Follow all laws and remember that they are still lethal weapons.
