How to Celebrate Siblings Day

Though it is celebrated annually on April 10th, Siblings Day is not a national holiday. Several foundations are fighting to make this a national holiday, and progress is being made as 27 states have accepted this celebration. Below are some suggestions as to how you can begin to practice this tradition with your family.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy
Step1
Visit the resting places of deceased siblings. If you have siblings who have passed away, take Siblings Day to pay your respects with flowers and a visit to his or her grave site.
Step2
Create a digital (or hard copy) scrapbook. Childhood is full of memories and there is no better way to celebrate Siblings Day than to give each sibling a scrapbook full of memories such as photos and funny sayings.
Step3
Purchase matching jewelry. Looking at jewelry can be a constant reminder of a person. Items such as matching rings can keep a sibling relationship strong.
Step4
Visit family vacations of your youth. If your family held an annual vacation, take the time to visit this location on Siblings Day. Try to make this a tradition for your children and their siblings as well.
Step5
Locate estranged siblings. Missing out on the siblings experience may be hard for some people. Dedicate this day to starting the search or completing your search for any estranged siblings. It is never too late to build a relationship.
