There are many beautiful necklaces, earrings, and bracelets that we have to have and before you it know we are spending all of our money to get them. Well now there is a way that you can do the jewelry and save money, by using beads and string. You can even start a jewelry business and sell your work at flea markets or fairs and get the money you spent making them, back.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Beads of all different types
  • String
  • needlenose pliers
  • earring hooks or ballposts with ear backs
  • headpins
  • wire cutters
  • flat pliers
  • clasps for bracelets and necklaces
  1. Step 1

First to make the earrings you need the headpins, beads and needlenose pliers. Put the beads that you want on the headpin and at the top bend the headpin to make a loop. Don't close just yet, put the earring hook or ballpost through and then close it. Do the same with the other earring. Your earrings should look like this.

  2. Step 2

To make the necklace cut the length of the string that you want and start adding the beads to it. The best string to use is the kind that does not stretch, because they make a better knot. The stretchy ones won't hold a knot well and your work will fall apart. Once you have all the beads leave enough room at the end to add the clasps and tie the knot.

  3. Step 3

Take the clasp and place it as close to your last bead as possible without it being too tight and you can either use the pliers or your hands to tie the knot. Once your knot is tied you can cut the excess string and close your clasp. You can use clear string when your beads are dark colors and colored string when your beads are clear.

  4. Step 4

To make the bracelet use the same steps as your necklace and follow the same pattern for everything. For example if you have a red bead and white bead for your necklace, do the same for your bracelets and necklaces so that they go together.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can play around with many different patterns and beads and find the ones that you like the best.
  • Practice making them whenever you can if you feel that your first creations where not good enough.
  • You can start your jewelry business and sell it at flea markets or to your friends and families.
