Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Do some research online or in a bookstore on the 1920s to get an understanding of '20s-esque details like flappers, mobsters, Prohibition and jazz.
Step2
Watch a few films that focus on the 1920s, including the Great Gatsby films (there's more than one out there), Mrs. Dalloway, Bullets Over Broadway and Thoroughly Modern Millie.
Step3
Experience the 1920s for yourself by throwing a 1920s-themed party or attending a 1920s festival. Dress up as someone from that time, which includes learning about '20s fashion, etiquette and dialogue.
Step4
Visit some sites that have history from the 1920s, including the Palmer Memorial Episcopal Church and Autry House in Houston and the Tallac and Baldwin Estates in Lake Tahoe.
Step5
Visit Art Deco galleries and jazz clubs that have their culture rooted in the 1920s.
