College tuition prices have been rising steadily each year, and many low income families are left wondering how they will be able to afford to send their children to college. Wouldn't it be great if your children could just go to college for free? This article discusses one college in the United States that offers free college tuition for each student that enrolls. Berea College is a small, private college in Berea, Kentucky that works with students in financial need, offering them full tuition scholarships based on their FASFA results. Many students at Berea College pay nothing for tuition or room and board. If you or a student you know are thinking about going to college soon, I suggest you read this article about Berea College and stand the best chance of being accepted and quite possibly go to college for free!

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • High School Diploma(Either completed or in progress)
  • 3.0 or above high school gpa
  • College Prep high school coursework
  • Good work ethic
  • Love for learning
  • Low income
  • Internet access

Step1
Take the hardest college prep classes that you can pass with the highest grades possible while in high school. You will need to have at least a 3.0 gpa when you graduate. Berea College is a competitive school to get into and you will need to have good grades to be granted a spot.
Step2
Get involved with a few extracurricular and/or volunteer activities and stick with them for at least a couple years of your high school career. Not only will you create lifelong memories while doing them, you will also demonstrate to Berea your commitment values and desire to be an active community member.
Step3
You will also need to take a standardized test.

You can take the ACT and you will need to make a score of at least 19 in math and 20 in English with a composite score of at least 21 or you can take the SAT and score at least a 400 in reading, 470 in math and 470 in writing.

These are the lowest average scores of admitted students who enrolled into Berea College last year.
Step4
During your senior year of high school, or right now if you have already graduated, go to www.berea.edu

This is the website for Berea College, a small, private 4 year college in Kentucky that awards each admitted student a full scholarship that covers tuition for all four years that the student attends the college.

Additional costs like room and board are also usually covered for most students because the college decides how much each family pays using the EFC from the FAFSA. Whatever your EFC is, thats how much Berea College will ask you to pay, even if its ZERO!

Take a few minutes on the website to read about Berea College.
Step5
If you like what you see, put in an application and start the application process(its free to apply). If you followed my advice, you will stand a good chance of being accepted. Apply early, because Berea College is a very competitive school.
Step6
Be sure to complete the FAFSA for the year you are applying in, and have your FAFSA results sent to Berea College as early as possible.

Tips & Warnings

  • When applying to college, getting an early start is key! You want to be in the front of the pack!
  • Always take your education and goals seriously. Think from the end result of what it is you want to accomplish, not just what may be fun to you at the moment.
