Make A Cleaning Jug For Paint Brushes

Painting can make big messes but cleaning your paint brushes doesn't have to add to the mess. No need to dirty a sink, make this easy paint brush cleaning jug instead!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Empty Milk Jug
  1. Step 1

Clean out an empty plastic milk jug.

  2. Step 2

Cut a hole in one side of the jug. Be certain you have the bottom of your hole above the metal section of the paint brush that fastens the bristles so your sure to get the whole brush clean.

  3. Step 3

Put water in your jug for water based paint or turpentine for oil based painting jobs.

  4. Step 4

Wipe paintbrushes off well with old newspaper.

  5. Step 5

Place brushes in solution and clean.

  6. Step 6

Once cleaned, hang your paint brushes upside down to prevent damage to the bristles.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you don't have time to clean your paint brushes right away, stick them in a ziploc bag or wrap bristle area with plastic wrap and stick in the freezer until you are ready to clean them, or use them again after they defrost.
  • Don't leave jug where children or pets can get at it, especially if turpentine is being used!
