Step 1
Decide on a specific time when you'd like your birds to come in to their coop or barn.

Leave chickens or waterfowl cooped up for a week. At the time you choose in step 1, come out to the coop to feed them. When you approach the door with your feed, blow your whistle. Then feed. Repeat nightly.

Step 3
Now release your chickens and repeat the whistle calling at feeding time. Even if you just have a few smart birds, the rest will soon follow suit and before you know it, they will all be flocking to their coop when you blow the whistle. If you keep doing it at set times, they may begin coming in before you blow your whistle in anticipation of being fed.
