Pharmaceutical companies provide free medication to patients who cannot afford to pay for their meds. I have provided below a list of resources to assist with medication coverage.
First access a blank page or piece of paper and pen to make notes.
Step2
Next access this website 'NeedyMeds' at (http://www.needymeds.com/). Here you will find an alphabetized list of drugs both brand and generic. You will also be able to access the pharmaceutical company that manufactures each drug, their patient assistance phone number and the eligibility guidelines.
Step3
Once you determine that you are eligible for assistance, call your doctor's office for an application. If he/she does not have copies, contact the pharmaceutical company and they will mail you one.
Step4
Complete the application, you and the doctor each will have a portion to complete.
Step5
Mail the application back using the address provided on the application.
Step6
You should receive your medication within 4 to 6 weeks, up to a 90 day supply.
Step7
For refills have your doctor contact the pharmaceutical company.
Tips & Warnings
Follow the instructions on the application.
If the pharmaceutical company gives you different instructions, follow their instructions.
