Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- A DVD collection
- Paper or a computer
Step1
Decide how much you'd like to charge people when they have movies out, and how long is an acceptable amount of time for them to borrow the DVDs. If you have a huge interest from people, you may not have to charge much.
Step2
Advertise. Make fliers so people know they can rent from you, because the more customers you have, the more successful you'll be.
Step3
Create some sort of database, whether it's on the computer (recommended) or on a piece of paper, of the DVD's you have, who they are checked out to and the due date for return.
Step4
Make a display of your DVDs so people can get a good look. A good shelf set-up will do just fine.
Step5
Make sure your roommate(s) is/are okay with people coming into your dorm/apartment/house to get a look at the collection.
Step6
By this point, you're all set to start your business.

on 8/15/2008 I knew someone in my freshman year of college who did this at our dorm... he used to hold people's Driver's license or State ID and only rent for one night... seemed to work out fine :)
