Step 1
Fold the origami square in half diagonally (or corner to corner) to form a triangle with the white side up. Fold the bottom right corner so the bottom edge of the corner meets the bottom line of the triangle.

Then fold right side of the triangle over so right edge aligns with bottom side of the triangle. Cut a small triangle out of the right corner and completely unfold the first three steps. You should have a small cross at one corner of the square.

Step 3
With the white side up, fold bottom corner up, a little below the top corner so there's a bigger white triangle behind the colored triangle. After folding bottom edge of triangle back, curl both ends to form a circle and tuck one side into the other. And voila, you've got a hat fit for a Pope.
