Getting indexed in the major search engines is the goal of all website and blog owners. However, achieving the top ranking for a particular keyword can be a daunting task. The following tips will help you in manually submitting your website to the top search engines: Google, Yahoo, and MSN.

• Website or blog
• Internet connection
• Computer

1. Google. On the Google home page, click the link below the search box titled 'About Google'. On the next page, under the section titled 'For Site Owners', click on the link 'Submit Your Content to Google'. Finally, click on the link 'Add your URL to Google's index'. Follow the directions to submit your website.
2. Yahoo. On the Yahoo home page, click the link at the bottom of the page that is titled 'Suggest a Site'. Next click the link 'Submit Your Site for Free'. Follow the simple directions to add your website.
3. MSN. Follow the link below to go directly to the URL submission page for MSN. (It's a little hard to find otherwise.)

Tips & Warnings

• Most search engine web crawlers, or bots, will eventually find all web pages and index them.
• Some search engines also offer faster indexing for a fee.
• Do not submit your site multiple times to the major search engines. They may penalize you for spamming.
