Don't throw out that temporary window shade after installing the new window treatments. Convert it into a decorative fan in just minutes for holiday use.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • pleated window shade
  • ribbons
  • stapler

Step1
Compress the window shade into its most compact form. Then bring the two ends up together (forming a "U").
Step2
Staple the edge of the two ends together. Hold the bottom part of the "U" and spread the pleats to form the fan.
Step3
Staples Add additional staples down the center seam of the fan to hold the two sections together. These will be on the back of the fan. An alternate method is to glue these together.
Step4
Add decorative items to dress up the fan. Add a Christmas ornament to use it for that holiday or hearts to use it for a Valentine's Day decoration.
Step5
Thread narrow ribbon through the holes already in the top of the fan. Tie the ribbon into a bow at each end.

Tips & Warnings

  • Changing the decoration on the front of the fan allows use for different holidays.
  • Don't let the fan get crushed when stored after the holiday is over.
