Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- A geniune like of things you use, purchase, , etc
- Internet access (free at most libraries)/or some stamps and letterhead
- time
- grooving imagination
- upbeat personality (or at least be able to fake it)
- a mailing address where you can get your mail
Step1
First you need to make a list of all of the products you use and love. If you must, look in your refrigerator, or in your pantry or on the floor for candy wrappers, or shoe polish, or fabric softener..whatever it is. Then get a pad and a piece of paper and write down the list. Make three columns, name of product, what it does, and why it is worthy of making your list.
Step2
GET ADDRESSES. Once you have the list of products you know and love. Get down their addresses. You can find them easily online by doing a search in Yahoo.com or Google.com. If you get the url then the next step is simple, if you aren't that saavy you can copy the address off of the product box. Assemble your list.
Step3
Write down the pros and cons of each product, what's good and what's bad about it. If you really love it, say so and why.
Step4
WRITE. The next step is the best part, writing your words. Go to the company website and look for a consumer section for "feedback" or "comments." I did this many times over. I recently wrote Hillshire Farms to tell them how offensive I thought their television commercial is, you know the army one..and then I told them how I thought it should go. For my efforts they sent me six - yes SIX coupons for their products...100% free. I was in kielbasi for months! I did the same for a Fruit Punch, just writing in fun how it had managed to quell a particularly nasty hangover! And the next thing I know, in the mail, whamm, about 10 coupons for FREE PRODUCTS. And there wasn't any limit or expiration date! What we don't realize is that most companies want to hear what we think about a product, good or bad, and for our two minutes of typing something into a contacts page, or for the letter we address and mail to them, they THANK US! They really do! Because we are giving them honest facts that they pay good money to demographics agencies for.
Step5
WAIT. This is the hardest part, but if you write enough comments a week, you will have a steady stream of these coupons and free products and bonus packs coming into your mail box. I usually give them out to my poorer friends..but it's been good eating and soaping and washing and just about any kind of product can keep you in items forever! So keep going, and keep writing and who knows, maybe you'll even end up with your own television commercial - like Aunt Bea!
