Teddy bears everywhere.

Young children have a fascination with their teddy bear friends. They are a big part of a child's life. Why not throw a birthday party that celebrates your child and the teddy bears that she and her guests love so much? Here are some super ideas.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Light brown, black and red card stock paper
  • Scissors
  • Permanent markers
  • Balloons
  • Paper goods
  • Ingredients for smoothie
  • Snacks and treats
  • Teddy bear story book
  • Materials to make a teddy bear
  • Goodie bag treats
  1. Step 1

Make invitations. Cut a teddy bear shape out of brown card stock paper. Cut paw pads out of black card stock paper and glue to the teddy bear's paws. Cut a bow tie out of red card stock paper and glue to the teddy bear. Draw a face on each teddy bear with permanent markers. Write pertinent party details on the teddy bear's stomach. Be sure to include that each child should bring their favorite stuffed animal to the party.

  2. Step 2

Put up decorations. Teddy bears and other stuffed animals should adorn the party room. You can even set up a little table and chairs for the guest teddy bears to sit at. Have light brown, dark brown and red helium balloons tied to the backs of each guests chair at the party table. Use a brown plastic tablecloth and alternate plates, napkins, cups and utensils with teddy bear colors.

  3. Step 3

Prepare some refreshments. Kids will love a chocolate smoothie. Here's how you make it: 1-1/2 pints of chocolate ice cream, 18 ounces whole milk, 1 scoop vanilla ice cream, chocolate shavings from a Hershey's candy bar. Blend all of the ingredients together in a blender, except for the chocolate shavings. Sprinkle the chocolate shavings on top of each cup.

  4. Step 4

Serve food. Serve Teddy Grahams, along with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches that are cut into quarters. You might also want to serve pretzels to make a complete lunch.

  5. Step 5

Have activities. Read a teddy bear story book. You can find many selections at your local library. Use the link below that takes you to a Kid's Heart where you can get the instructions for kids to make their own teddy bears.

  6. Step 6

Make goodie bags out of regular brown lunch bags. Fold the top of the bag over two times and then decorate with teddy bear stickers. Stuff with individual packs of Teddy Grahams, small teddy bear stuffed toys, stickers, individual packs of gummy bears, and the small plastic teddy bear counters. You can buy a pack of the counters and divide them among the children.

Tips & Warnings
  • Plan ahead to make sure things run smoothly.
  • Send out invites two weeks before the party date.
