Costume jewelry is a hot seller at the flea market.

Do you want to make money selling jewelry? Selling costume jewelry at the flea market can be very profitable.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Costume jewelry
  • Flea market
  • Display stands
  1. Step 1

Find a source for costume jewelry. You can purchase discount merchandise from stores, clearance items, used jewelry from thrift stores and garage sales, or find costume jewelry wholesalers online or from a trade magazine. Any type of costume jewelry can be sold at the flea market.

  2. Step 2

Prepare the costume jewelry for sale at the flea market. Make sure all pieces are unbroken, in good condition, and clean. Carded jewelry can get price tags on the cards, and others can have string tags looped around them. You could also decide to sell the jewelry at the flea market by price.

  3. Step 3

Pack up and head to the flea market. Display the jewelry neatly on your flea market table. Using trays is a good idea for carded jewelry. You can also purchase jewelry stands from display companies. At the flea market, don't get too fancy. Stands can be made with styrofoam with a fabric covering and U-pins to hold the jewelry in place.

  4. Step 4

Attract customers to your flea market table with neat displays and cheap prices. When a customer expresses interest in one piece of costume jewelry, try to get them to buy another to go along with it.

Tips & Warnings
  • Display costume jewelry neatly for more sales.
  • Never sell earrings or body jewelry that has been used.
