Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Incense cones
  • Fragrance oil
  • Solvent liquid
  • A jar to soak your incense in
  • Drying rack, a cookie rack works fine
  1. Step 1

The first thing that you will want to do is purchase your supplies. You can find most of them at a craft supply store or from online at a candle supply shop. You can purchase incense cones in either charcoal or wood chip form. It really depends on the preference.

  2. Step 2

Next you will need to prepare your liquid solution to soak your incense in. You do not want to use straight fragrance oil, if used by itself it produces a very smoky incense. Instead use a solvent liquid that is made for such crafts, it is sometimes called a carrier solution. You will want to mix one part fragrance oil to two to three parts solvent liquid. Stir. Do not use straight fragrance oil as it will make excessively smoky incense. Stir the mixture to evenly distribute the fragrance oil.

  3. Step 3

Place 15 to 20 incense cones in a canning jar and pour enough of the fragrance mixture to cover the cones.

  4. Step 4

Soak the cones for at least 24 hours. After the incense is finished soaking, drain the liquid into another jar and try draining the cones in a colander to get rid of the excess liquid.

  5. Step 5

Lay the cones on a drying rack for at least 48 hours, it may take longer to dry them. Cones should be completely dry before burning.
