Things You'll Need:
- Coffee filters or muffin cups for basket minis
- Pastel pipe cleaners
- Pretend grass
- Easter Candy
- Eye droppers
- Food Coloring
- Smocks
-
Step 1
Have the children put on smocks to protect their clothing from the food coloring.
-
Step 2
Keep 3 coffee filters together for one basket. This makes it sturdier. Same thing for muffin cups if you are making mini baskets.
-
Step 3
Have the children use the eye droppers into the different colors of food coloring and drop on coffee filters. (HINT: don't lay them flat leave them as they are or it will be hard to turn back into basket form)
-
Step 4
When they are finished the coffee filters should have a tye dye look to it! Very colorful the kids love it.
-
Step 5
Within minutes depending how much food coloring was used the baskets should be dry. At this time have the children choose what color pipe cleaner they would like for the handle of the basket. Staple it on for them if they are preschoolers.
-
Step 6
Have the children grab a handful of play grass to place in their baskets.
-
Step 7
Give the children Easter candy to separate and put into their basket! Make sure their names are on the buttom of the baskets.
