Things You'll Need:
- a little lamp
- dawn dish detergent
- shampooer
- a bowl
-
Step 1
dawn is the best to use for dishes and fleasFirst, some people don't know and others might now approve but you can wash your pet in dawn dish detergent and then brush them with a flea or lice comb. Dawn is the only one I have known to work, it kills most fleas and the ones its doesn't kill it paralyzes so you can brush them out and kill them in a bowl of dawn dish detergent. Then putting a flea medication on them will deter fleas from coming back as you rid your house of them.
-
Step 2
Also you can mix water and dawn (make sure not to use the kind with bleach on colored carpet), add the mixture to your shampooer and shampoo your carpets and rugs and even mop other floors in it. Some have even washed their clothes and linens in it just in case, you can add dryer sheets for the smell.
-
Step 3
Next and I know this sounds like allot of trouble but trust me, things bought in the stores like foggers and such don't work as well as dawn. But for the last step place lamps in the floor in several locations without shades. Now place a bowl of water with dawn dish detergent in the bottom and turn the lamp on and other lights off. BEST IF DONE WHEN GOING TO BED AS NOT TO ATTRACT FLEAS TO YOU!! This may have to be done 2-3 days or maybe just once. You will notice a difference by morning.

on 10/13/2009 I suggest washing the Dawn out with a proper pet shampoo, as the Dawn is an alkaline product, which is too harsh for a pet's skin. Alternatively, you can use a pet shampoo made with permethrins (the flower-based kind) to kill fleas, which is gentler on their sensitive skin.
