My dog Jake is the cutest little pup in the whole world. Sometimes, after being outside or like today- when it is pouring cats AND dogs he comes inside smelling like a little wet dog! But, his fur is so long and fluffy it makes it hard to bathe him. Here are some tips on bathing a longhaired dog.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

How to Bathe a Longhaired Dog

  1. Step 1

First, brush the dog. This gets rid of all the extra fur that may get tangled or stuck in the drain.

  2. Step 2

Turn on the water in the bathtub. Get the dog all wet then add shampoo. Follow directions on the bottle.

  3. Step 3

After you are finished...KEEP HIM IN THE TUB OR HE WILL SHAKE EVERYWHERE!!! Take a towel and dry him off in the tub. Then brush him once more. Once he is not so wet, you can let him out of the tub. He is now all clean and smells great!
