Have you just plain felt like a change and decided to rearrange your furniture, only to find that unsightly indentations are left behind in the carpet where your treasures used to sit?

The following method will help to remove these dents and in time, you'll forget they were ever there!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A Steam Iron
  • A Spoon, Large Coin or a Jar Lid (with rounded edges is best!)
  1. Step 1

Warm up your steam iron (setting should be on 'Steam') and hold the iron around 10-15cm above the dent until the fabric becomes moist.

  2. Step 2

Using the back of a spoon, a large coin or a jar lid (just make sure that the item is clean and will not leach color into the carpet), gently work the fibres from the edges of the dent into the centre. the dent will gradually become less noticeable.

  3. Step 3

You might like to repeat the process once more a day or two later. Over time, the carpet fibre should regain it's original shape and appearance. Easy!

Tips & Warnings
  • Be sure to take care with a hot iron and be careful not to hold it too close to the carpet - you don't want to end up with a scorch mark!
