You may let other people push you around, not truly valuing yourself. You may even accept bad relationships as just part of your life. It’s time to pick your chin up off the ground and truly treasure your unique qualities. Just follow these tips to prove your self-worth and finally learn to appreciate the beauty of being you.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A notebook to jot down your best qualities
  • Healthy relationships
  1. Step 1

Notice your unique qualities. You have been created differently than anyone else, so find out what makes you unique. Everyone has something that they like about themselves, even if it’s something as simple as liking your nice fingernails or your ability to write poetry. Take a few minutes to jot down some ideas.

  2. Step 2

Enhance your individuality. Let others see your valuable qualities by showing off your features or abilities. If you have nice skin, highlight your features. If you are able to write excellent presentations, ask your boss for that next assignment. Let others see you shine.

  3. Step 3

Ignore negative talk. One way to truly devalue yourself is to listen to your own negative talk. Stop telling yourself you’re ugly or dumb. Remind yourself that you have great qualities.

  4. Step 4

Break off unhealthy relationships. Realizing that you deserve to be treated better by other people will help you prove your self-worth. If you’re in an unhealthy relationship, end it now. Start forming relationships that are positive and happy.

  5. Step 5

Dress your best. One of the best ways to make yourself feel more secure is to dress well. You don’t have to buy a new wardrobe, but you should at least step out in clean, ironed clothes. Wear clothes that make you feel attractive. In addition, make sure you pay close attention to your personal hygiene.

  6. Step 6

Accept yourself. There are just some traits each one of us has that we would like to change but can’t. Accept these characteristics as part of what makes you truly unique.

Tips & Warnings
  • Learn to appreciate your uniqueness.
  • Praise yourself for your accomplishments.
  • Don't allow yourself or anyone else to refer to you in a negative way.
  • Don't stay in unhealthy relationships.
