You can format your text as you type or format it afterward. You can also format a document that is already done and even a saved one.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Open Office program (available for free see my other articles.)
Step1
Open Office formatting toolbar BEFORE YOU TYPE YOUR TEXT

Select the font, typeface, and size you want. You can choose the font either by selecting 'format' 'character' and choosing the font, typeface, and size you want OR by using the formatting toolbar. The formatting toolbar is found at the top of your document.
Step2
drop down menu Click the arrow next to the font. A drop-down menu, with fonts, appears for you to choose your font. Click on the arrow next to the box with the number. Choose the size you want. Next to this is a series of “buttons”. These are B for bold, I for italics, and U for underline. There are also “buttons” for alignment, numbering, bullets, indentation, text color, and highlighting.
Step3
selected text To format or reformat a document already done, select the text you want to change. Follow the above instructions for this and any additional type you wish to change.

Tips & Warnings

  • DON'T FORGET TO SAVE YOUR DOCUMENT AGAIN OR ALL CHANGES WILL BE LOST. If you want to keep both documents, a different name must be given.
