Things You'll Need:
- Measuring tape
- A friend to help you
-
Step 1
Never depend solely on the letter/number sizing to make a decision. Measurements are given to help you best decide which garment will be your desired fit and most importantly, are of the fabric NOT the requires personal measurements for the item to fit you. I place two fingers between my skin and measuring tape to make sure the garment is not too tight.
-
Step 2
Begin measuring the bust. Measure at the under arm seam across the chest/bust to the other under arm arm seam and then double this number.
-
Step 3
Move down to the waist. The middle of the garment is where the waist would be or where the item tapers in. Measure across and then double.
-
Step 4
Please keep in mind that your hips are waist are not the same body part! The hips are approximately 5 inches below the waistline. Measure at the area where the curve is the most outward.
-
Step 5
Garments are measured from the absolute top to the absolute bottom--straps included. (This measurement is not doubled).
-
Step 6
The shoulders should be measured flat, from seam to seam, then stretched and measured again.
