Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- pancake batter
- griddle pan
- spatula
- butter or margarine
- pancake syrup
Step1
Prepare pancake batter according to package directions or use a recipe. Don't over mix! Just stir wet and dry ingredients until they are well incorporated, the batter may still be a little lumpy.
Step2
Preheat pan on medium heat for 2-3 minutes. Add 1/2 Tbsp of butter or margarine and push it around to coat the pan. Wet fingers and flick water onto the pre heated pan. The pan is ready when the water drops sizzle and evaporated after 1-2 seconds. If the drops disappear too quickly, the pan is too hot.
Step3
Pour batter onto hot pan in desired size. Pancakes that are 6-8 inches in diameter are easiest to flip. Let pancakes cook until the edges start to dry out and a few bubbles form in the center. Use the corner of your spatula to lift the edges of the pancake and check underneath. They should be light, golden brown. They should be ready to flip in 1-2 minutes.
Step4
Flip each pancake ONE TIME! Don't press down on pancakes after they're flipped, this will make them dense and chewy. Remember, pancakes rise like any other cake. It will take less time for the second side to cook, about 30 seconds to a minute. Enjoy perfect pancakes!
