Water stains can ruin a good piece of wood furniture... or will it? I have a solution that usually does the trick in fixing those ugly water stains. Put the doilies up for another day!

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • mayonnaise
  • soft cloth
  • cigarette ashes

Step1
Mix a little mayonnaise with some cigarette ashes.
Step2
Rub the mixture into the stain real well and let sit for 20 minutes or so.
Step3
Rub off with a soft cloth. If the stain is not gone, try re-applying the mixture and let sit a bit longer.

on 4/3/2008 Thank you for writing this! Just what I needed after my grandson marked up one of my deceased father in law's desks. It worked!

on 3/19/2008 I'm not aware of what other ingredients may work but if anyone reading this does, please chime in. I don't smoke either but I can get them from those who do smoke, never a problem there. Maybe even use a ziploc and get some from the ashtray yourself when visiting somewhere.

on 3/19/2008 What odd ingredients. My piano is covered in circles from glasses. What if I don't have cigarette ashes? Will anything else work?
