Step 1
Insert Windows NT Workstation CD-ROM
Change to i386 directory
Type winnt /b -
Step 2
Press ENTER to continue at the first Windows Setup screen
Press enter to restart your computer and continue Windows NT Setup
Press enter to set up Windows NT
Press ENTER to continue at the Windows NT Workstation Setup screen
Read licensing agreement and PAGE DOWN to the end of the agreement
Press F8 to agree -
Step 3
Press ENTER so long as the hardware and software match your computer
Press ENTER to install on the C: drive
Press ENTER to accept the default location (\winnt) where setup files will be installed. -
Step 4
Press ENTER to allow setup to perform an examination of your hard disk
Remove any disks from the PC and press ENTER to restart
Insert the Windows NT Workstation CD-ROM and click OK to continue
Click NEXT at the Windows NT Setup screen -
Step 5
At setup options, select CUSTOM and click NEXT to continue.
Enter NAME and ORGANIZATION and click NEXT
Enter the CD-ROM key number and click NEXT
Enter the Computer NAME and click NEXT -
Step 6
Enter your PASSWORD and click NEXT to continue
Select NO if you do not want to create an emergency disk, and click NEXT
Select the components you will need and click NEXT
Click NEXT to start the second phase of setup -
Step 7
Select "This computer will participate on a network..." and click NEXT
Click "Select from list"
Enter the 3COM NIC Driver floppy into drive and click "Have Disk"
Click OK -
Step 8
At the "Select OEM option screen", click NEXT
Click "Start search" at the Worksation Setup screen
Select the protocols you need and click NEXT
Click NEXT at the Workstation Setup screen
Click NEXT to install selected components -
Step 9
Inser 3COM diskette 2, click OK
Click NO to decline the use of DHCP
Enter the IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway, click NEXT
Click NEXT at Workstation Setup screen
Click NEXT to start the network -
Step 10
Select domain and click NEXT
Click FINISH
Set Time, date and Time Zone, click CLOSE -
Step 11
Click OK at the Display Properties screen
Remove any disks from the computer and click RESTART COMPUTER
