You may feel that you have a story inside you, but you just don’t know how to get it out. Writing a story is often a matter of organization. Just follow these tips, and you’ll have that story completed in no time.
Create your characters. Getting to know your characters before creating a story is a great way to get the creative juices flowing. Jot down some possible characters for your story and flesh them out by detailing their appearances, their personalities, and their backgrounds. You may find your story just by getting to know your characters.
Step2
Develop your background. One of the keys to creating your story is to know where you want the story to take place. You can also use your characters to help create the background. Is it a modern story or a medieval one? Does the story take place in Europe or America? These are essential elements to your story.
Step3
Form an outline. An outline can help you to see your story in steps. The first point should be forming your introduction. The second point can be used to create a conflict. The third point can be the climax of the story and the fourth point can be the resolution. Then you can go back and flesh out your outline.
Step4
Write at least an hour every day. Even if you’re experiencing writer’s block, sit down and force yourself to write about something, even if it doesn’t have anything to do with your story. Write about things that you see. You may find these give you ideas for your story.
Step5
Don’t edit yourself. The most important thing right now is to just create your story. You can come back and edit yourself later or let someone else do the editing for you.
