Everyone at some point in their lives willl begin a collection of something, whether it is comic books, silver spoons, or keychains. But is your collection worth more than the sentimental value?

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • an item to collect
  • a little extra money
  • time
  • patience

Step1
First, you need to find something that you have a passion for. There are a lot of things people can get into, but some collections will not make as much money as others.
Step2
Once you have your item to collect, start by buying the cheapest and the easiest to find items. For example, if you are collecting Beatles bubblegum cards, begin by buying them in any condition (at a reasonable price, of course)so that you can establish your collection.
Step3
Once you have established a decent collection, begin looking for those hard-to-find rarities that will make your collection pop. You will have to spend a little more money, but it will be a good investment if you are a serious collector.
Step4
Your collection also needs to be kept in the condiiton it was bought. Make sure you have a safe, dry place that you can display or store your new collection.

Tips & Warnings

  • Rare items WILL be an investment, so be prepared to pay more money.
  • If you don't take care of the condition of your items, your collection will lose value.
  • Don't let a collection take over your home. Display only your favorites and store away the rest.
