This is a wonderful idea for children's parties, or even a girls night in.

For the sake of time, go ahead and make up your chocolate canvas before people arrive.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Chocolate (milk, dark, white)
  • Colored white chocolate (various colors)
  • Vegetable oil
  • Paint brushes, suitable for painting chocolate
  • Imagination
  1. Step 1

Make your chocolate canvas. Use a saucer as your template and cut the wax paper to fit that.
Cover wax paper with melted chocolate - spread evenly.
Place in freezer for 10 minutes. Chocolate canvas is ready!! Leave the wax paper on so it can be handled easily.

  2. Step 2

When you are ready to paint - melt your colored chocolates. Use small custard bowls. Add 1/4 teaspoon of vegetable oil to each 8 oz of chocolate. This will make your chocolate shiny, and easier to paint with.

At the craft store there are many colors of white chocolate available. For cost savings, don't buy purple but mix blue/red, mix white and red for a pretty pink, orange and white makes a nice flesh color, peanut butter is just plain tasty.

  3. Step 3

Have paint brushes available for your guests to use.

Use a paper towel to clean off the paint brushes. (Water and chocolate DO NOT mix)

Let them go wild with creativity and imagination.

  4. Step 4

Place chocolate art in the refrigerator to set up.

  5. Step 5

You may consider having cellophane bags available for your guest to take their candy home in. Tie up with curling ribbon.

Tips & Warnings
  • Water and chocolate do not mix.
  • Chocolate is dangerous to dogs.
