Things You'll Need:
- Energy
- Time
- Backyard
- Fence or large field
-
Step 1
First make sure your dog has a leash and has had plenty of water to drink, especially if it's hot where you are from.
-
Step 2
Hook the Shetland Sheepdog up to the leash and walk them to the park or your back yard.
-
Step 3
Have plenty of balls, and toys to play with
-
Step 4
Unleash the Shetland Sheepdog, and let him run. He/She may not want to play with the toys, but mine just loves balls. Some days he loves to play with them, other days he just loves to pounce around in the high grass.
-
Step 5
Keep your eye on the dog, as Shetlands have a ton of energy but with their big fluff bodies, they tend to get hot very fast.
-
Step 6
Take your Shetland back inside and make sure to get them plenty of drinking water to cool them down!!

on 11/30/2008 Kids help too. Shelties are herding dogs and enjoy "herding" our kids around the yard.
