It happened, planned or not, and you need to tell your partner you are pregnant. You could just pick up the phone and call him at the office or you could blurt it out when he walks through the door. But why not take a little time to make the announcement special? After all, this is the beginning of an amazing journey. Celebrate it.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Card
  • Newborn item
  • T-shirt
  • Fabric paint
  • Delivery service
  • Baby foods

Step1
One way to tell your partner you are pregnant is in a card. Not just any card, though. Get one that says something like, “Congratulation on your pregnancy”, or “Heard you’re expecting”. Watch the confusion morph to realization. It’s a precious moment, so have your camera ready.
Step2
baby safety pins Another way is to place a newborn baby item, like booties, a rattle or a bottle on his side of the bed. He’ll be sure it’s not for him, but you may still need to explain it.
Step3
Daddy-to-be shirt If you are a little crafty, get a plain white T-shirt and use fabric paint to spell out “World’s Best Daddy” or “Number One Daddy.” There will be no confusion, especially if you use pink and blue to do the lettering.
Step4
If you can’t wait until you are face to face, use a delivery service. You can send a bouquet of baby’s breath with a note that says something like, “ Guess what we’re expecting?” or “Can you believe it finally happened?”
Step5
If you’re a good cook, this is a tasty way to share the news. Make a meal entirely out of foods that have the word “baby” in them. Some ideas include: baby corn, baby carrots, baby-back ribs, baby chickpeas, or baby snap peas.

Tips & Warnings

  • However you tell your partner you are pregnant, make it special. It’s hard not to blurt it out, but if you can plan it, it makes a great first chapter in a life story.
