Writing, when not for pleasure, can often be no fun. Long hours staring at a computer screen or notebook can become tiresome. Here are some little tricks to make your experience a little more enjoyable.

Step1

Change your font to a less boring style and write in a fun color rather than black to make the assignment seem more fun. Of course, be sure to fix your font back to normal and your font color back to black before you turn it in.

Buy a cute notebook to work in if writing by hand. A boring legal pad makes it seem even more tedious, but a cute and colorful notebook will make it seem less like work.

Step3

Write in colored ink or treat yourself to a really nice pen to work with. Simple pleasures make everything seem less tedious.

Step4

Give yourself incentives such as: "If I get 4 pages done today I can go get a manicure when I'm finished." Follow your guidelines and reward yourself thoroughly.
