How to pray

This article will guide you and give you ideas how to pray effectively. After going through a devastating experience of losing a baby, I have had to really learn how to pray.

Instructions

1. First you need to be aware of what exactly you are going to pray for. Being specific is key.

2. Being in a quiet place is the most effective place to pray but just know that we can pray anywhere, even in a bathroom. God doesn't care where you are as long as you are praying to him.

3. Watch what you pray for. Prayer is power and God will answer you so be sure you really are praying for the right thing.

4. Be sure to pray for God's will in everything. Don't always pray for things that you want. Be sure to pray for the things you need but then have faith to believe that he will bless you with what you're heart desires.

5. When I say "what your heart desires" this mean God will give you the desires of your heart. Meaning say you have never wanted to go to another country to help people. All of a sudden you might have a burden to want to go. God placed that willingness in your heart.

6. When you're praying be sure not to doubt what you are voicing to God. If you are wavering back and forth in your prayers, they will not be effective.

7. God knows your heart and what you need before you ask. But He wants us to turn to him in our time of need. Pray without ceasing.

• Reading the Bible is as important as praying
