I took a trip to NYC and this girl told me about this recipe. It sounded easy, too easy. She also cautioned that this recipe sounds so good, you would think Ritz crackers would be even better, BUT they are not. I tried it anyway, and she was right - USE SALTINES.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Saltine crackers
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • Large Hershey Bar
  • Oven at 350

Step1
Preheat oven to 350.
Melt 1/2 stick of butter + 1/2 cup of brown sugar over medium heat. STIR often.
Step2
Line baking sheet with saltine crackers. Pour butter/brown sugar mixture evenly over the the crackers.
Place in oven for 5 minutes.
Step3
Remove crackers from oven - place chocolate square on top of each cracker. Chocolate does not need to be even - it will melt.
Place in oven for 5 minutes.
Step4
Remove from oven. Use a spoon to spread melted chocolate evenly. Let crackers cool down for 15 minutes (or so). ENJOY!!! Salty and sweet.

Tips & Warnings

  • This should keep for 2 weeks unrefrigerated.
  • Goes good with milk.
  • Easy recipe for unexpected guests in the holiday season.
  • Do NOT eat right out of the oven, you'll burn the roof of your mouth.
