Step 1
The strip is much larger than it appears. Don't walk everywhere. Vegas offers a monorail service to allow patrons to visit almost all of the strip’s hotels and casinos. It’s $9 for a 24-hour pass. Save your feet! See additional resources for more information.
-
Step 2
Eat only 1 meal a day at a Buffet. Sit down and eat as much as possible. This will keep you full as you walk all over Vegas and will save you from eating out 3 meals a day.
Buffets that are great:
1) Luxor, where the breakfast buffet is awesome
2) Grand Buffet is the largest and best on the strip
3) Excalibur is inexpensive and will keep you going all day -
Step 3
Carry water and snacks with you at all times! Walking the strip, visiting museums and casinos, and any spontaneous activity will leave you famished. Snacks and bottles of water are expensive in Las Vegas because of the demand.
-
Step 4
If you are playing the slots for an extended period of time, the drinks are free and you are allowed to have them openly on the strip. Of course, the casinos use this technique so you will spend more money, so be cautious! Tip the waitress of course.
-
Step 5
There are several free shows, 2 of which are notable. The fountain show in the Ceasar's Palace mall is excellent! Shopping in this mall is a must, plus you get a cool show. The Treasure Island Show takes place in front of the hotel at night.
-
Step 6
During the day you can go into the MGM Grand to see lions and the Mirage hotel to see tigers for free. Of course, the animals are not always out.
-
Step 7
The Mandalay Bat hotel has a really interesting aquarium where you can pet a Manta Ray and a follow and underwater shark walk!
-
Step 8
The Bellagio has an amazing lobby with a glass-blown flower ceiling and a beautiful garden that changes by season. This is a free-must-see.
