How to make Fresh Tomato-Herb Sauce

If you are cooking spaghetti for your family and it is not flying off the plate. Try this twist. The proof is in the sauce.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • 2 cups fresh seeded tomatoes
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped red onion
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh basil
  • 2 Tbl olive oil
  • 1 Tbl sugar or sub Spoonful
  • 1 Tbl chopped fresh oregano
  • 1 tsp minced fresh garlic
  • 1 salt and pepper to taste
  • ½ crumbled feta cheese

Step1
Combine all ingredients, except feta cheese in a mixing bowl. You can subsitute any cheese you like. Feta mixes the best with pastas and you can find it in most grocery store.
Step2
Let stand at room temperature about 30 minutes to allow flavors to blend. You can warm this on the top of the stove in a baking dish for faster blending, avoid cooking.
Step3
Just before serving, stir in feta cheese.
Step4
Toss with hot cooked pasta or use on toasted Italian bread for bruschetta.

Tips & Warnings

  • This is great for a snack.
  • Never leave the stove unattended.
