Step 1
First, Don't Panic! Remember these folks are coming because they like you and would like to see you. Chances are if you dropped in unexpectedly on them, their house wouldn't be so clean either. Grab the biggest laundry basket you can find. Go through only your main rooms, and pick up things that are out of place. Put your full basket in your bedroom closet and shut the door!

Step 2
Get the spray air freshener-any will do. Start at the front door, spray liberally through all the main rooms, giving the bathroom and kids' rooms an extra squirt or two. Close any doors that you don't want seen (basement door, kids' rooms, messy office, etc)

Find a clean cloth or rag and some furniture polish. Spray polish only on the main furniture only in the living room, dining room and den. Wipe with the cloth or rag.

Step 4
Turn off most of the lights, leaving just enough so that people won't trip! Grab some aromatic candles and put them in the living room and dining room and light them. Put some great music on your CD player.

Focus on yourself! Fluff up your hair, maybe a little makeup. Make sure your clothes are clean.
