Here is a quick and easy way to slice a sheet cake into evenly squared pieces without having to use a knife. Clean-up is quick...just throw away the string!

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Sheet cake from bakery
  • at least 18" to 24" string...I prefer monofilament (fishing line), but nylon kite string work fine also.

Step1
Remove cake from cardboard box; place on a flat surface.
Step2
Wrap string around index fingers on both hands and stretch tight. First slice cake from one end...vertically, then slice horizontally. While slicing, gently moving string in a sawing motion. You can pretty much slice any thickness you want.
Step3
Place cake pieces on plate and eat...No more messy knives to clean up. Just throw string away.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you're serving ice cream...try slicing it out of the container with a butter knife...beats scooping, plus it makes neater servings.
