Breastfeeding at home is no big chore for many moms, but in public, being discrete can sometimes be very challenging. Most of us do not care about the public opinion on breastfeeding, but we do not want our doing it to be made an issue in a crowd. Here are some hints that will help you breastfeed naturally while staying under the radar.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Yourself and baby
  • Low-cut shirt or one that is stretchy
  • Light baby blanket
  1. Step 1

When you realize the baby is hungry, first take baby into the restroom, nursing station or any private area.

  2. Step 2

There you can latch the baby on without worrying about prying eyes.

  3. Step 3

Once baby is latched on, cover the baby with the light blanket over your shoulder so that it appears that the baby could be just sleeping.

  4. Step 4

Go back out into the public and feel free to breastfeed at will without anyone even noticing you are feeding.

Tips & Warnings
  • After the baby is done, under the blanket you can cover yourself back up, pretending the baby has just woken up, or you can return to the restroom to get yourself presentable again.
