How to Apply Color Correction Effects in Adobe Premiere Pro

As you become more familiar with editing video, you may be ready to experiment with color correction effect. There are many different effects that can be applied to your clips when working in Adobe Premiere Pro. Here is how to access and apply them.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Open your project and go the Effect Controls panel. It will appear as a tab below the Project Window, next to Info and History.

  2. Step 2

    Scroll down to Video Effects, and expand its options by clicking the arrow to the left of “Video Effects.”

  3. Step 3

    Scroll down to Color Correction, and expand its options by clicking on the arrow to the left of “Color Correction.” You will see several options there, including Fast Color Corrector, Luma Corrector, Luma Curve, RGB Color Corrector, RGB Curves, Three-way Color Corrector and Video Limiter.

  4. Step 4

    Move the Current-time indicator in your Timeline to a frame that provides the best example of colors that need to be adjusted in the clip that you are adjusting.

  5. Step 5

    Select the effect you want to apply to your clip and drag it directly on to the clip.

  6. Step 6

    Go to the Effects Controls in your Preview monitor and make adjustments as needed based on the effect you are applying. Save your work.
