Step 1
Stop feeling weird about the fact that you’re buying items for a holiday that just passed less than a month ago. You’re going to save a lot of money you wouldn’t be able to paying full price 360 days from now.
-
Step 2
Review everything you didn’t have, ran out of or wanted for whatever holiday has just gone by. Hunt through a bunch of different stores if you’re having trouble finding the exact spare Christmas bulbs you need or the Halloween lawn ornament you saw a few weeks earlier but couldn’t bring yourself to pay full price for.
-
Step 3
Remind yourself of how much less shopping you’ll have to do as the holiday gets closer. You’ll be ahead of the game and will likely avoid crowds.
-
Step 4
Two to three weeks after Christmas is the biggest time for customer returns, so while everyone is busy returning unwanted gifts you can be stocking up on items for next year with little to no wait at regular cashier lines.
-
Step 5
Make sure you put away the items you buy right after the holidays in a location you’ll remember 11 months later. You don’t want to misplace everything you just bought on discount and have to go buy more.
