How to Monitor Your Child's Internet Usage
Technology really came as a blessing and also as a curse. Because of the easy access to technology and the overwhelming interests in technology from the youth, Internet surfing can literally became risky for our young people. I am going to share with you how to monitor your child's internet usage.

The first thing that you need to do is access the internet. Once you are online look at the toolbar menu, generally found in the following listing order: File, Edit, View, Favorites, Tools, and Help.

Click on Tools. At the end of the list provided, you will need to click on Internet Options. Once you have clicked on Internet Options, click on settings.

Now that you have clicked on settings. You will see a list of websites. Every website that has been accessed will be listed along with the time that the website was visited. If you see any questionable sites, check with your child and the both of you should view the site and determine if it is appropriate.

Tips & Warnings
Allow me to list some websites that I believe are not appropriate for children or teenagers because of the risk of pornographic images and videoes.
Myspace.com - This site is too dangerous. People can access your website and send pictures that can cause great harm to your child. Myspace users do have the option of closing their site to specific surfers.
Youtube- Inappropriate material is available at their finger tips. Sometimes your child may be flashed by graphic images when searching for innocent topics.
Any browser search engine with images: Again, your child may be searching for beef- and the beef that shows up is not the beef your child needs to see. Innocent words such as white house can pull up some gross images.
There are tons of websites that are presented as innocent, but the potential for compromise is HIGH! Let's be the grown-ups and protect the minds of our children.
