How to store winter sweaters

Winter is finally over! And with the coming of spring, one problem bothers many people. How should the winter sweaters be stored? Not only should they not take up too much room, but they should also be well prserved from acquiring any smells or dust. Follow these tips for a simple way to get around this problem.

1. Separate the delicate sweaters that will need some sort of wrapping to keep them intact. For example cashmere, you probably want to wrap before you store it.
2. Find a light scented delicate sachet. This will keep your sweaters smelling good. Remember to never store anything that has not been washed/ dry cleaned.
3. Buy either a Rubbermaid box or the shrinkable bags. This will help you make it easy to store the sweaters under your bed or wherever you may have some extra room. I find it easy to organize the sweaters by color, however you can do it whichever way suits you best. Close the lid well, so there's no dust or moisture going in.
4. If you have a drawer you can dedicate to sweaters, you could also roll them, so it'll fit more. Again, organizing by color may keep it easier for you in case you need to find something fast.

Tips & Warnings

• Always air out your sweaters before storing them. This will ensure they are fresh and ready to be used again next winter.
• Always read the labels for washing instructions.
• Fold your sweaters neatly before storing them. You do not want them to be wrinkled next time you use them.
• Store only the sweaters you plan on wearing again next winter. Otherwise you are wasting space. What you do not intend on keeping, you can always offer to a friend, donate to goodwill or if the condition of the sweater is not good, throwit away.
