Step 1
With so many restaurants catering to the demands of vegans and vegetarians it is becoming easy to order from just about anywhere. If you do a little research before you plan your trip then it can be even easier for you to maintain your lifestyle while you are away.
-
Step 2
First off know what fast food chains and restaurants chains have to offer for vegetarians or vegans. Knowing this before hand will help you to know exactly what you can order and where to go. For instance you can go to this website and they will give you a list of all the restaurants and what to eat there ~ http://www.vegetarian-restaurants.net/OtherInfo/Fast FoodRest.htm
-
Step 3
I have found this site to be very helpful so that I don't have to ask alot of questions to the server or the drive-thru window without the clear answers that I want. Often the person will look at you with a blank stare and offer and "I Don't Know" to you.
-
Step 4
So lets look at some of the most famous places to eat that are all over the place.
*Denny's*
Veggie Burgers, (not vegan)
Oatmeal and grits,
Bagel's and other breads, English muffins,
Baked potatoes,
Vegetables of the day -
Step 5
Salads dressings that are vegan friendly are Oriental, barbecue sauce, salsa, reduced French, oil & vinegar and Light Italian
Denny's provides a toll free number where you can get information about vegetarian and vegan offerings ~

Step 6
*Carl's Jr.*
In each location they offer a list of ingredients in their foods which makes it easy for you to clearly see what is in each item. That way you can choose what you want that is appropriate for you. -
Step 7
*Subway*
You can go to their website and see the ingredients for yourself to determine if it is a place that you want to eat. However they do offer a couple of different vegetarian sandwiches. Some but all Subways offer a garden burger (not vegan) or a veggie sandwich. Some also have soy turkey and cheese products as well. If you choose to eat at Subway I would strongly suggest that you do ask the sandwich preparer to change their gloves though. They do handle meat products and you want to make sure that none of that get on your sandwich. -
Step 8
Most restaurants these days have offering for the vegetarian and=d vegans since it is becoming more and more popular. So check the menu at different restaurants and ask the manager any questions that you may have. It is their job to make the customer happy so they should be able to help you out with any questions you have.
-
Step 9
The link that I gave you above is a very helpful website that shows you different restaurants and their offerings to vegans and vegetarians. There are even vegetarian or vegan restaurants around that specialize in only that. So before you leave check the areas that you are going to be traveling in and see what is located there.
-
Step 10
You can also choose to go into natural health stores to grab some delicious goodies. Most natural food stores offer you a variety of items available like buy ready-made meals, side dishes, sandwiches and other items. If you do have a hard time finding a place to go then you can still find some vegan or vegetarian items at your regular grocery store. Pack a couple of snacks for you to have while on the road just in case. If you want to have veggies then bring along a cooler to keep them chilled.

Step 11
Once you are completely living your life in a vegan or vegetarian way it becomes easier and easier for you to get used to the way of life. You would be surprised at some of the locations of vegan and vegetarian restaurants.
