Things You'll Need:
- Cell phone
- Computer
- Calendar
- Work supplies
-
Step 1
Create a schedule for yourself before you begin to travel. Set times for each day that you are required to work and set specific days for free time.
-
Step 2
Tell the people you are traveling with that you will be unavailable during the times that you have scheduled for work and be completely unavailable during these times. If your traveling partners know your availability, they will not tempt you to explore with them when you should be concentrating on your work.
-
Step 3
Bring all necessary work supplies with you. Do not assume that the supplies you require will be available everywhere you go. It is best to take them with you so as to avoid any unnecessary delays in the progress of your work.
-
Step 4
Take days off as a reward. If you finish a specific project, take the following day off in order to celebrate your success. Enjoy the ability you have to travel while working-otherwise the ability would be wasted.
-
Step 5
Keep in regular contact with your clients, boss, or employees. Staying in contact with necessary people will enable you to continue working while you are gone with up-to-date information on all of your projects. It will also remind the others that you are still available and ready to work even if you are not in town with them. Take your cell phone with you if possible. Check your email periodically throughout the days and weeks that you are gone.
-
Step 6
Write down all deadlines that you have in a calendar. Keep track of the work that was assigned to you before you left and any work that you receive while you are gone. Stay as organized as possible so you do not lose track of time or of any projects that are due for completion during your traveling time.
