Things You'll Need:
- Craft supplies
- Envelopes
-
Step 1
Create a guest list early. First write down everyone who you would like to invite. If your list is far too extensive, go over it a few times, asking yourself who you have actually spoken to within the last year and who you have actually seen. Cross off as many names as you feel necessary. Remember that most of those people will never even know you had a party and will not have the opportunity to feel slighted.
-
Step 2
Choose the date for your housewarming party. Give yourself enough time to move in and make all necessary additions you expect to make-painting, buying new furniture, redoing the floors.
-
Step 3
Decide on colors for your invitations. If your housewarming party is in the spring, perhaps you will choose spring colors, or fall colors if your party is in the fall. Maybe you are having a theme party, and your invitations should reflect that idea.
-
Step 4
Purchase all necessary supplies-paper, ribbon, fancy markers or paint, envelopes, scissors and glue. Stick to a budget as this part can get pricey without taking care.
-
Step 5
Set a date to make your invitations--the earlier, the better. Invite friends over or create them yourself, enjoying either the presence of others or the rare and pleasant solitude. Either make each invitation individually or use an assembly line approach, doing one task for every invitation before moving on to the next task.
-
Step 6
Write out the addresses on the envelopes by hand to give your invitations an extra personal flare. If you don’t like your handwriting, or you simply don’t have the time, you can print the addresses onto labels and stick them to the envelopes in a more timely fashion.
-
Step 7
Enjoy the process of making invitations for your housewarming party. You want your friends and family to feel you when they open the envelope, so seal each invitation with stress-free love.
