Things You'll Need:
- Clothes of different sizes
- Maternity clothes
-
Step 1
Save hand-me-downs that are slightly too big for your normal figure. These clothes will get you through the first few months of growing body but not yet growing belly and the post-pregnancy months of slow shrinking. Keep them in a bag or container in your attic, basement, closet or under your bed so they are not in the way of your daily routine.
-
Step 2
Separate the clothes that fit you in your current size. You will have some shirts that are longer than others and some pants that sit lower on your hips. These clothes will keep you covered during the early stages of your pregnancy.
-
Step 3
Ask friends who have been pregnant or who are currently pregnant to keep their maternity clothes so that you can borrow them when your baby time comes. Sharing maternity clothes will save your bank as buying an entire new wardrobe for a few months can easily become expensive.
-
Step 4
Wear your partner’s clothes if he is bigger than you are. They won’t fit you quite right, but they are great for hanging out in the house or for running errands. His clothes will typically be very comfortable and easy to exist in.
-
Step 5
Keep out the clothes that you can wear, and put away any clothes that you will not be able to wear. During the first few months of pregnancy, you may be able to wear your regular clothes, but it is best to put them out of sight as soon as your body won’t allow them anymore. Keeping your options honest will help you choose your outfit every day, and it will help keep any lamentations about your increasing size at bay.
