How to Make Key Lime Pie

Here is a really delicious lime pie. Your guests will love it and you will too!

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 9 inch graham cracker pie shell
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons grated lime zest
  • 1/3 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3 tablespoons lighty salted butter cut into pieces
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • whipped cream
  • 6-8 thin slices of lime for garnish
  1. Step 1

    Mix sugar, cornstarch and grated zest in a medium saucepan, blending well. Stir in lime juice then milk and butter. Place over medium heat stirring constantly, about 10 minutes or until mixture comes just to a boil and starts to thicken.

  2. Step 2

    Remove from heat and cool to room temperature, stirring occasionally. Fold in the sour cream and mix well.Pour into graham cracker crust.Turn the lid over to the graham cracker crust and place over pie. Place in refrigerator and chill for at least 30 minutes to an hour.

  3. Step 3

    Cut into slices add whipped topping and a slice of lime if desired for garnish. This is a really delicious pie and very rich.It goes over really well with your friends and guests I have gotten lots of compliments on it and I brought 2 into work with me and it was all gone with in a 1/2 hour.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can give this a little twist by drizzling chocolate or white chocolate on top.
  • You can also try this substituting lemon or oranges for the lime.
