Harness drivers, like thoroughbred jockeys, wear colorful suits to race horses that are called colors. Unlike thoroughbred racing, in standardbred racing each driver has their own colors that they wear for their entire career. These colors are many times passed down from generation to generation and can have historical significance in the harness business. Washing colors can be a difficult task because the colorful tops are often connected to the white pants. Also the different types of colors are made from different materials which can effect how you wash them.
